Hi, I'm Alexis! I live in Northeast Ohio and I have been riding horses since I was 10 years old, it is my passion.
I took several years away from the sport in order to pursue my education. I received by Bachelor's of Science Degree from THE Ohio State University and my Master's of Science in Food Safety from Michigan State University. My education has lead me to a career that allows me flexibility so that I can enjoy my time at the barn and go to horse shows without the pressures of taking time off. I know not everyone has that privilege so I am grateful for my boss and the company I work for.
I have been lucky to own to 3 of the best horses: an amazing, kid friendly, goofy Appendix named Irish; the most people friendly Off-The-Track Chestnut Thoroughbred named Jack; and a big, beautiful fancy Irish Sport Horse named Riley! Irish and Jack taught me so much about riding and helped shaped me for this next phase with Riley.
A couple of years ago I decided to write a book about my journey with horses, focusing on my OTTB Jack. I didn't expect it to become anything and truth be told it hasn't, I did zero marketing for it, but it did lead me to create a website to share a little more about my life as an adult amateur equestrian through a simple equestrian blog.
I have crossed a lot off my equestrian to do list but there is still more to do. I want to show cross country, ride in A-Rated events, and ultimately show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Some of those I never thought possible, but thanks to Riley, I truly believe we can accomplish anything :)

A few of my Tack box necessities: Effol tack cleaner is my go to, EQyss Detangler and Shine (this stuff smells amazing), Sport Horse Essentials Hoof Oil, Green Jelly and leg wraps, Vetrolin spray, Back on Track Hock boots.
We love our friends in the equestrian community! I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me and my journey.
